Foundations Detroit Renamed Skywood Outpatient Royal Oak

Same Effective Integrated Treatment for Co-occurring Substance Use and Mental Health Disorders

Royal Oak, Michigan – February 17, 2020 – Skywood Outpatient Royal Oak, formerly known as Foundations Detroit, has officially changed its name, and is open and seeing patients both in-person and virtually. Skywood Outpatient Royal Oak is a chemical dependency and mental health track Intensive Outpatient program that provides specialized treatment specifically designed to serve individuals with substance use disorder and/or dual diagnosis. This population requires a special level of treatment due to the nature of co-occurring disorders requiring more individualized psychological and medical support.

The chemical dependency track is an intensive outpatient program that utilizes resiliency-based, trauma-informed, and relapse preventative care to support a newly identified sober lifestyle. The mental health track, both applying psychiatric and therapeutic support, draws upon empirically validated behavioral therapies to support a reduction in psychiatric symptoms associated with mental health disorders.

Sara Tigay, LPC, CAADC, Clinical Manager, Skywood Outpatient Royal Oak, shares, “We are proud to provide an individualized approach for our patients and we deeply understand the complexity of these illnesses.”

The chemical dependency and mental health track includes a mix of traditional and alternative therapies and treatments such as dialectical behavior therapy skills, acceptance and commitment therapy, art therapy and community-based recovery efforts. After completing treatment, patients may transition to our outpatient program, offered as once weekly individual therapy and once weekly aftercare group.
